The Faith and Light Celebration.

Every month, the East and West District Faith and Light community comes together and celebrates the gift of one another. Each celebration is very cosy with less than 30 regular members each, including friends, the children and their families.

Activities include:

  1. Singing,
Each celebration is filled with loving songs, action songs, songs of praise and thanksgiving. As a community, we sing with one heart and one voice.
  2. Praying,
Prayer is an indispensable pillar of each celebration. Prayer gives us spiritual renewal till the next celebration. One of the highlights of each celebration is having the special persons preparing the alter.
  3. Sharing,
As a close-knit community, we regularly share, listen and lend each other support.
  4. Playing,
While their parents are sharing in another room, our special friends participate in games, plays and action songs. In between having fun, there are simple group sharings too.
  5. Feasting,
Food is volunteered at each celebration. Nothing fancy, just simple fare that provides the occasion for us to mingle and be with one another.
  6. Other activities:
    • Mass,
Our special friends take their rightful place in the centre of the Church community during the celebration of the most Holy Eucharist. Always a truly moving experience.
    • Pilgrimages,
Every decade, the International Faith and Light Communities will organise a pilgrimage to Lourdes. Occasionally, there are also regional pilgrimages.
    • Retreats,

Spiritual retreats are also held to aid the communities' spiritual growth. and
    • Talks.
From time to time, notable guest speakers share their testimonies and advice. Recent examples include Jean Vanier himself.
