We Are One

All Generations Will Praise Your Name

A CONCERT OF INSPIRED MUSIC BY CHRIS DE SILVA
COME AND CELEBRATE OUR UNITY IN ONE LOVE, ONE SONG:

Let Chris de Silva take you on an inspirational journey with his beautiful songs of faith and unity. A homegrown musician and liturgist, Chris acknowledged God's gift of music in his life some 24 years ago when he began playing in the Church of The Holy Family. Now, he is the Director of Music Ministry at St Brendan Catholic Church in Los Angeles, where he oversees three choirs and a hand bell group in a diverse community with a vibrant music programme.

Central to his faith and work is the music he crafts and dedicates to God, a gift that has not escaped the attention of GIA Publications, who promptly added him to their family which includes such established names as David Haas and Marty Haugen. This resulted in his debut recording with them, “One Love, One Song”.

Chris' music has been warmly received for its originality, cleverness, relevance, layered lyrical meanings and especially accessibility. Don't be surprised if you find yourself humming his tunes on your way home after the concert. It is this infectious quality of his music, bearing simple melodies and a contemporary feel, that is winning him a loyal following, young and old, in Catholic circles.

Chris returns for a series of concerts, fresh from a successful appearance at a showcase during the NPM (National Pastoral Musicians) Convention in Indianapolis, where 4,000 people sang his composition, “We Are One”. No doubt, you will be similarly moved and touched by music that lifts you up, helps you become more aware of God, and celebrates our unity in faith. Chris will also share the inspiration behind some of his songs, which can be used for liturgy, praise and worship or your own personal meditation. There really isn't a more meaningful way to spend a Sunday evening!

So come and catch Chris de Silva in concert at:

Church of The Holy Family, 26th August 2007, 8pm
Church of St Teresa auditorium, 27th August 2007, 8pm (limited seating)

Admission is free to the concerts, so do come early as seats are on a first-come, first-served basis.
