"All He wants us to do is to trust Him a little more..."
|
You
know how it is.
You study so hard for
the exams (I’d like to think so anyway!) and you pray REAL hard
before sitting for the paper but the first thing you do once the paper
is over?
Mutter to yourself
(and anyone else who bothers to listen) how terrible that paper was, what
a sadistic lecturer you have and swear that you’ll probably have
to retake this module because it would take a miracle to pass.
Well friends, other
than the fact that miracles DO happen (I actually got a decent grade for
European Politics! Thank-you Jesus), I realise that maybe results day
wouldn’t be that traumatising if only we had a little more faith
and trust in God.
It is true you know: if you do your best,
God WILL do the rest.
Trying to understand how God
works is like…well…let’s just say it’s no mean
feat. But some things remain clear: Our God is a loving God, He will never
abandon us in times of need (though so often, you feel as if these are
the very times when God seems to have left you) and He never breaks a
promise.
For those of us who
are students, our duty right now is to study and there are no 2 ways about
this. So, if we keep to our end of the bargain, surely we should have
enough faith in God to realise that he will not leave us in times of need.
Of course, this is easier said than done. I myself find it difficult to
trust God completely and it is only with a lot of prayer and after facing
some emotional turmoil, that I’ve finally begun to have a little
more faith…and this is just the beginning!
For those of you who
are finding it difficult to have faith in God, do not be disheartened.
Just spend some quiet time in prayer everyday asking God to give you the
faith you so desperately want and need and then BELIEVE that He will provide.
But hey, let’s
say you did study real hard for the exams and you even had faith but for
some reason, the results seem to show otherwise, don’t fret. God
does work in mysterious ways and sometimes, we don’t always get
what we pray for simply because that something wasn’t right for
us. However, what we end up with is something even better (it might take
a while to realise this so bear with Him) than what we originally prayed
for. This is when we come to the realisation that God indeed knows what
is best for us.
All He wants us to
do is to trust Him a little more.
